As mentioned on Twitter yesterday we have come to a resolution with school, council and PPI Amey to the neccessary work to the drainage at Barnton. While this is great result after our 4 year battle to resolve the situation it does have an immediate down side.
As most of the 2nd XV rugby pitch will be fenced off there will be no cricket on the square until June. At which point only the 1st XI will be allowed to use the ground. This does mean rearranging 3 fixtures at the start of the year for the 1st XI. The good news is the deck will be beautiful by the time they get to play on it!
The team this effects most is the 2nd XI who will play the majority of their home games at Bangholm. Thankfully this doesn't harm the 3's in anyway!
This DOES NOT have any effect on nets or training. We'll still have use of the nets and the area where the football pitch is. We still hope to go out doors in early April (weather dependant!)
We also hope to repair the nets once the drainage work is complete... we don't have any dates for this yet but we'll update you when we do.
So hopefully it wont be long till it looks like this again...
