Welcome to the new look website for 2010!

With the relaunch of the site the club is looking for volunteers to write up match reports and other little bits and bobs. It can really be about anything... Your all time Corstorphine XI, or even your pick of the best XI ever... Maybe you have a training tip or even a good bit of chat or favourite memory of the club or a game you were involved in. It can be about almost anything and all you have to do is write it down in an email and send it to the club email address rhccricket@yahoo.co.uk.

Club Nets
This year we are going to be holding our winter net sessions at Westwoods Health Club, Fettes (access is opposite the western general on Crewe Road South)

The first session is on Sunday 14th march from 10-12. As the hall is larger and the facilities better than Edinburgh accies we will be charging £5 a head to cover costs. (The hall hire costs £108)

Transfers
A few ins outs so far to keep you all up to date...

In the 1st XI Paddy Sadler has moved up to the Premier by joining Watsonians, Kev Mclaren has moved back to Greenock as captain, Preston Mommsen will also be departing.

In the 2's it's farewell to Gus Hoffman. Mikey Whalen has fatherly duties to attend too and I'm sure you'll all wish him well with that.

Coming back to the warm embrace of the lions bossom is Sean Olivier. Who left the club with the fine record of 37 wickets and 300 runs to his name in 2007.

It's also with great delight we can welcome Lea Tsui to the club. Lea is the Girls and Womens development officer for Cricket Scotland and will no doubt be a great addition to the club.

There are also a few more signings to be made but can't be announced just yet... Stay tuned for more on that.

Recruitment Drive and New Appointments
As usual we're on our winter recruitment drive and are looking for players of all ages and abilities. If you know of anyone looking for a new club or is interested in taking up the game...ask them to join us!!

Once again we are looking to get Arnie out of the scorehut and back on the field. In order to do that we need a scorer for the 1st XI! So if you know of anyone who might be interested please ask them!!

This year we've enlisted David Lawrie as chief grounds co-ordinator. He'll be responsible for organising all grounds work and will liaise closely with Jim McFadyen and Mark Cunningham to get Barnton and Bangholm in great nick!! However this doesn't mean they have to do this alone. If you have some spare time over the coming months and throught the season then please let Dave know that you are willing to help.

Likewise on the social side of things big Tim Hancock will be chief social convenor and will be challenging each squad (1's, 2's & 3's) to come up with or run a social event over the course of the summer. The only conditions are that they must rasie some money for the club and they must involve non club members... So get thinking!!
