| NEWS U15's v Watsonians On a cloudy but pleasantly warm evening Corstorphine could only muster 9 players on this occasion to take on the might of Watsonians. Watsonian won the toss and elected to bat. Leigh Kasperek opened the bowlind and success was obtained when she bowled Riddle with the second ball of the match. This early success only stung Watsonians into their stride with Williams and Cash taking the score to 52 before Williams was caught behind by Andrew Ward in the seventh over. With the score on 110 in the fifteenth over Cash had to retire when he scored 50. Other wickets had fallen but Little & Malin took the score from 116-5 to 156-6 after 20 overs. There were 37 extras in the total including 23 wides. Joe Kinghorn was Corstorphine's most effective bowler with figures of 4-0-16-3. Joe did not contribute with the bat being out for 0 in the first over of the reply which was bowled by Cash. Ozzie malik was out soon after for 9. Only the returning Leigh Kasperek (32) and Nicky Brunto (10) made double figures although early signs that Euan Headrick (9 in 5 balls) may have taken the bowling apart were short lived. Corstorphine lost at the end of the sixteenth over with the score on 93 (26 extras). We wish Watsonians well in their future rounds of the competition. |
