SMRH U15 v R H Corstorphine U15
Wednesday 3/6/09
Six o'clock and 11 Corstorphine players but only 1 SMRH player. Others were playing a match agaist Heriots at Goldenacre. Match started at 6:38 with SMRH still 4 players short, but on their way. SMRH won the toss and elected to bat on a bright but chilly evening.
The Corstorphine bowlers did well, allied to some good fielding, catches for Gareth Hopkins, Joe Kinghorn and Ossie Malik who also had a run out, and backing up. SMRH were bowled out for 54 (10 extras) in 16.1 overs. (A Sadler 4-2-10-2, K Meier 4-1-9-1, debutant U Khan 4-0-10-2, P Cameron 2-1-7-0, N Brunton 1-0-11-1, O Malik 1-0-1-2 and A Ward 0.1-0-1-1)
Joe Kinghorn, probably Corstorphine's quickest bowler, captained the side and set some intelligent placements but did not bowl himself. Ossie Malik & Joe Kinghorn opened the batting (initially against 12 fielders) and soon set about the SMRH bowlers. Joe was out for 28 (6 fours) with the score on 40 in 4.2 overs. Ossie (20 n.o.) was joined by Kevin Meier (5 n.o.) and knocked off the remaining runs when the score reached 58 for 1 in 6.1 overs. The scorer could hardly write by this time due to shivering in the chill wind.
Wednesday 10/6/09 Corstorphine play Watsonians at Royal High starting at 6 p.m. Matt will not be there but please still assemble at 5:30 p.m. for your warm up. It is hoped that Watsonians will agree to make the match a double-header as we are due to play them in the National Cup competition also. This means that everyone will need to be U15.
Team will be:-
Joe Kinghorn
Kevin Meier
Ossie Malik
Jamie Yellowlees
Peter Cameron

As usual please confirm that you are/are not available.
We have an additional match (League Cup) at Penicuik on Wednesday 17/6/09 so I would be oliged if you would indicate if you would be available for this match also.
Thanks as always and well done to those that played at Inverleith.
