NEWS

1's v Stirling CC

Drizzly, cold... and the New Williamfield Ground located in a jungle unknon to man or beast. 3 cars, multimap heaven and even tea leaves and we still could not find the club. Thank the lord for Andy Raison for coming to meet us to get us to the ground.

Lambie won the toss, we stuck them in. 10 runs off the bat in the first 14 overs. Rigg and Pallav getting the odd ball on a hard deck to really come through.

Couple of touch nicks were dropped but our catching woes were to continue. After great opening spells on came wicket wonder Luke Reynold with 10-3-3-15 bowling right through and Mallen bowling 8 off the reel, the first seven only conceding 18 before getting some tap in the last.

Couple of very straight deliveries knocking off stump clean out the ground.

Ground fielding was superb, especially with Josh Ryan and Paul Geoghegan to the fore.

Runs were hard to come by at SCC reached 111 for 6 off 40 overs.

Great performance with Josh and Pallav pickng up wickets in their second spells... Lambie brought on Tyson and himself on to get through the final ten, the gamble of rolling the oppo without Paddy having failed through the top four bowlers.

Tyson started extremely well going at 4.5 in the final ten... However Lambie, he and Mallen's last over all got some tap, and we conceded 60 odd to leave them - straight and clean hitting pro Kabir Khan finishing with 64 not out - 173 for 8 after the fifty.

Shockingly slow however as we were 17 minutes behind. Not helped by a dampish ball and some slow handclap batting from the oppo.

A great effort though on a good deck - huge bowling improvements with less extras (still 16 down to the bowlers) but putting the  ball in tough to score areas and backed by good committment in the field.

An amazing tea was had by all in SCC's glorious new clubhouse.

Out strode Jayce and Luke... looking extremely solid, punishing anything loose, particularly straight. Just as the rest of the side were starting to relax Jayce nicked one for a dozen.... 35 odd for 1.

In comes Thom Robertson, adding six himself before getting trapped in front... 55 for 2 after 19. Arnie wandered in next, dodgy groin and all, to hear Luke say "I'm here all day Arnie, hit straight, play to your strengths... " Good advice but after looking solid for 8 in a 20 odd partnership Arnie's fat foot slid over the crease for a stumping.

Rigg to the rescue, adding an incredibly solid 22 and adding 100 odd with Luke... Huge ground so they must have run 75 in damp conditions including a comfortable four! Luke started to pick his bowlers, giving the odd over a real slap as Josh settled down to not get out... Batting lesson and in the art of playing to strengths... Josh was out after 90 odd minutes in a tight run out from a great pick up and 30 yard flat direct hit from Mcghee... leaving us to get 25 in 5 overs.

One sharp run to cover.... 3 required off two deliveries... Could cut the atmosphere with a knife.

Pallav and Luke added a few runs... Before Luke, who'd picked up a hugely skilled and richly rewarded 1st Corrie ton - WELL DONE MATE - holed out to mid on with 3 overs to go.

Out strode Andy Raison but Pallav ran himself out for one. 7 balls to go. In strides the captain, with Andy - Metal Knee - Raison. One chinese cut for two.

Lambie slashes and plays what looked like (in the gloom) a legitimate swipe for 3 down to Third Man.

Delirium ensues. A huge effort founded on the bowling and batting of our Aussie chums. Pallav too, Mark Allen with vital wickets and Tyson belying his age with some quality bowling at the death. Huge team effort. Jayce seeing off 5 of the pro's overs... Well done to one and all...

2's and 3's: Why does it always rain on me...

Both sides got washed out again on saturday.

The 2's faced Drummond/Trinity who made it to 64 for 0 from 19 overs before conditions really started to become dangerous for the bowlers.

The 3's game was a wash out.
