1's Just Lose Out In Season Opener

The 1st XI narrowly missed winning their opening game of the season as they travelled all the way down to Dumfries.

The Lions opened the batting with Jason McCarthy and Overseas Am Luke Reynolds and they got us off to a great start as we reahced 115 before Luke was dismissed lbw for 64. Jason followed shortly after scoring 41 but it was to be the same old story as another collapse was on the cards.

Pallav knocked a quick 33 before the lower order failed to trouble the scorers too much.

Lions all out for 181.

Dumfries then narrowly scrapped their way to victory as they reached the target with only 1 wicket to spare. Thepick of the bowlers being Luke, Paddy and Olly with 3 for 19, 3 for 32 and 3 for 26 respectively.

No matter the result a few intrepid members of the side stayed overnight in Dumfires and sampled some of the night life... complaints about Arnie's taste in music have been coming in... apparently Wet, Wet, Wet reminds him of his childhood?!?!

The 2's and 3's had a bit of a bounce game on sunday due to fixture changes in the league. Although the weather wasn't ideal the boys stuck it out and enjoyed a good days cricket.
