| NEWS A New Ground for the Thirds The RHC 3 rd XI are delighted to announce that their home games for season 2009 shall be played at the new Bangholm Sports Complex at Craighall Gardens (just off Craighall Road/Ferry Road). This arrangement has been put in place due to a new partnership agreement that has been agreed between the City of Edinburgh Sports Unit, Trinity High School and RHC Cricket Club whereby we have agreed to provide coaching to their school pupils on Wednesday afternoons. According to our President, Arnie Sathiy, ‘this is an exciting new development that not only provides our third eleven with the opportunity to play on a turf wicket but also the link with Trinity High School will hopefully provide new players for both our Junior sides and in time for all 3 senior sides. The emergence of a new ground also allows for the possibility of a fourth eleven in the not too distant future. Given the number of promising youngsters coming through our junior ranks this is a distinct possibility’. Third team skipper Al Moore is clearly over the moon The first coaching session for Trinity HS pupils took place at Bangholm on Wednesday 22 April. Twenty five kids showed up! Tyson who was taking the session opened up the school cricket kit bag and found only eight cricket balls and not a lot else! However, Iron Mike took this in his stride and by all accounts ran a great fielding session. Well done! The first match on the new ground shall be against Largo CC on Saturday May 8th.
