The 2009 Masterton Trophy Winners

JUNIORS APRIL NEWSLETTER 2009

Here comes the Summer
Junior nets have been going strong since the end of January and we have been very pleased with the attendance and performance levels so far. If we can keep this up I am sure we will have another good season in 2009. Last year, for the first time in a number of years, we were able to get enough players on the field to fulfil all of our fixtures although the weather beat us from time to time. Following on from that its been good to see so many of you at pre-season practice. Its also been heartening to see new players join us but we still have room for more. We are always looking for new players for all age groups so if you know anyone who would like to come along just bring them with you or ask them to contact Steve or Clive for details.

I hope that those of you who have been able to come along have enjoyed nets and are looking forward to the start of the season. I hope that those who haven’t been able to make it on Friday nights will be able to join us when we move outside. Our last indoor practice will take place on Friday 24 th April. We move outside to the Royal High School on Tuesday 28th April from 6.00 to 7.30.

There will be plenty of cricket for everyone this year. We will be taking part in kwik cricket festivals (for primary school children) on Sunday mornings throughout the Summer. We have entered league and cups at under 13 and under 15 level. This year we will also be arranging games for under 17s throughout the Summer – probably on Sundays. If you would like to play in these under 17 games please let me know as soon as possible. There will be more details about the season in the next newsletter but in the meantime here are the under 13 and under 15 fixtures. As usual U13 games will be on Monday evenings and U15 games will be on Wednesdays.
